The Office of Naval Research, which is part of the US Department of Defence, has awarded a grant of up to two years of support to Professor Stefan Reber (Laboratory for Molecular Psychosomatics, University of Ulm, Germany) for his work on the promotion of stress resilience by non-invasive immunoregulatory approaches.

The proposal was submitted in response to Broad Agency Announcement 16-001 of long-range Office of Naval Research scientific projects. The award of this significant grant to Professor Reber represents a vote of confidence in the potential that IMM-201 (a heat-killed whole cell preparation of Mycobacterium vaccae NCTC 11659) has in diseases involving chronic inflammation in mental health disorders.
